The origins of our fallen nature had their beginning at this very moment. It was the first time the thought of being independent from God had occurred in creation. Iniquity became the tree of knowledge of good and evil that was found in the garden. It was never possible to know both good and evil until that moment of separation and independence. When Adam and Eve ate the right to choose it became part of the soul of all creation that was to follow. It is transmitted at birth in seed form and grows to become a heart with thoughts and ways that are opposed to righteousness, truth, love and everything God is. It is the source of our warped SELF identity. Religion dresses it up but the inside remains the same. Self sits enthroned in the soul and vulnerable to the oceans of circumstance that is the natural realm. Redemption has a radical solution to this dilemma. It is NOT a makeover of the soul through self-help, self-awareness and self-improvement but is a “New Birth” into the realm of the Spirit where step by step from glory to glory, from faith to faith, from strength to strength we move back to the heart of the Father. We BEcome responsive and ultimately led by the spirit of that resurrection life that was deposited within when we were “born again” by the life-giving spirit of the second Adam, Christ Jesus.
