2 Peter 1:10 “Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election”
When you look around the planet what is the greatest need? Not a revolution of the soul but a transformation of the Spirit. Not the results of an election but the act of your will to make your calling and election sure. The hope of the world is not in the next king, prime minister or president but in the King of kings and the Lord of lords.
2 Timothy 1:6-7 “I’m writing to encourage you to fan into a flame and rekindle the fire of the spiritual gift God imparted to you when I laid my hands upon you. For God will never give you the spirit of fear, but the Holy Spirit who gives you mighty power, love, and self-control”
It should be a normal reaction and the truest confirmation of your “born again” experience that you have this sense of “Great Need”. At the same time as you see with your natural eyes a rapid descent into evil around the world, you hear a cry in your spirit to “Rise Up”. What the world needs now is not visible to the natural eye. It’s not a new drug or a new idea but the power of an endless life. That gift has been deposited in your spirit and you alone are responsible to “stir up that gift” until if overflows and spills over into your soul to transform your being.
Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and you shall be witnesses … around the world”
The Lord is not after your church, your pastor or your denomination. He is desperately seeking you. He wants you to become personally accountable to Him. He is calling you to get off the roller coaster of the world and come away and wait upon Him until “after the Holy Ghost is come upon you”. Its only “After” you are immersed in the Holy Ghost that you can “Rise Up” in power to be a witness to the world in this dark hour. The true church is not the one that meets in the pew for an hour each week but the one that meets in the “secret place” of intimacy with the Bridegroom each day as one who has been betrothed.
