1 Thessalonians 5: 23
“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ”
You are His body to use for His purpose, but He is not going to accept that life that you were born with, that life that operates independently of Him for its origins are self in both ways and thoughts. The world sees people as two dimensional. Soul (self-conscious) and Body (world conscious). In redemption God lights the candle of our spirit and we become three dimensional beings. Then our body relates to the world, our soul is awakened to this third dimension and is now conscious of both our body and our spirit as our spirit communes with God. Our resurrected spirit resides in our un-resurrected body and thus begins the journey of the progressive salvation of the soul, where the soul is broken through the dealings of God both big and small (the wilderness) until in brokenness the spirit is released to extend its sovereignty throughout our entire being, thus fulfilling Gods purposes both now and, in the ages to come.
Romans 8:14 “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God”
We find ourselves in heaven and on earth at the same time. Our soul begins to give expression to the activity of our spirit as we learn to live, move and be guided by what has become the new center of our being. The soul is like a mirror that reflects either the activity of the eternal realm of the spirit or temporary realm of the world. The progressive redemption of the soul takes place when we choose to use our mind, emotions and will to reflect the inner life. During our life’s journey our soul understands and processes both the spiritual and the natural worlds. We are taught by the Holy Spirit to carefully guard the heart of our soul so that the spirit of life in Christ Jesus may reign supreme.
Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock:
if any man hear my voice, and open the door,
I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
