Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not upon your own understanding”
The souls last line of defense is “its understanding”. It is a necessity to walk in the natural realm but is the greatest of all hinderances to moving in the spirit. It measures life in terms like “good and bad” and “rich and poor” and “success and failure”. Only when the “Sonlight” shines through the clouds of our soul do we begin to hunger for another way of living. How we see ourselves and others goes through a radical transformation when we no longer “lean” on our understanding. Freedom to soar in the spirit comes when the souls understanding no longer dominates our decision-making process. Under the administration of the Holy Spirit, I can now see that some of my greatest struggles were actually meant to reveal the desperate condition of my soul as God saw it and through brokenness release me into a “Spirit led” life. A lifetime of spiritual discovery awaits this moment of revelation. It is here that we become “teachable” and in contrition, we enter “Spirit School” and learn His ways and thoughts. The principles upon which this life operates are the foundation of a Kingdom that will last forever. Our life is a “dress rehearsal” for the ages to come. It is a life that Overcomes the world. It is a life that was and is and is to come.
Psalm 51:17 “The sacrifice that God desires is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise”
