God looks for fruitfulness and the world looks for success. Success comes from natural strength, control, and respectability. A successful person is driven to become something or create something and keep control over its development and make it available in quantity and quality. The reward of success is money and peoples respect. Fruitfulness relates to the needs of others. It is the heart of intercession and involves sharing and carrying the burdens of others as if they were your own. Fruitfulness is born out of a spiritual union where the pain of one person becomes my deepest need and is carried until its prayed through. Fruitfulness involves tears that are always just below the surface waiting to rejoice in another’s victory or give expression to release the pressure of another’s pain. The rewards of success are limited to one’s lifespan. The rewards of fruitfulness are experienced both now and throughout eternity.

Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit produced by the Holy Spirit within you is divine love in all its varied expressions, joy that overflows, peace that subdues, patience that endures, kindness in action, a life full of virtue, faith that prevails, gentleness of heart, and strength of spirit”
